Sep 16, 2017 Ubuntu Installer recognizes and can use the RX550 but won't install itself on the 1,1 because a message comes up saying the 1,1 is 'too old' with no further explanation. The 1,1 was no longer officially Apple supported by 2010 which left the rather limited OSX 10.7.5 as. Nov 19, 2018 context: I own a mac pro 5,1 and play a lot of video games on it. Recently in an attempt to make my machine more viable at a low price I purchased an AMD sapphire 560 pulse. Over many sources I researched they stated that the card was 'natrualy compatible' meaning that the card would work with my mac pro without any required drivers. Some extra research showed that on the sapphire page there.
Sure! Thing is-Apple doesn't put out a list of which video cards out there on the market do and don't work for sure.you could try looking around on the forums to see if others have had success. That being said the process is easy-shut down the Mac Pro and take off the side panel.lever for doing so is on the back of the Mac. Touch the frame. Look by the fan.there should be a button.press it and you're able to slide something out of the way.that one stumped me the most. The video card goes in slot 1. Wiggle it in.oh,and you're going to want to undo the bar with the 2 screws on it first( screws can't come out) then wiggle the card in. It sorta goes in at an angle. You're also gonna want to make sure the power cables to the card are hooked up as well.the connectors for that should be on the board and they are 6 pin( molex??) and you should have gotten the cables with the card. So after you have put the card's connector in at a slight angle, making sure it is seated all the way in,and the power cables are connected, and the bar on the side? is back in place, press the button and slide the bar underneath back, and put the side panel back on.touch the frame before doing so.and power up your Mac after plugging in the monitor to one of the video outputs. If you see a picture on the screen, congrats, you are done,if not, certain types of that card may work better than others,or it may need to be flashed to work with Mac. No,I don't know how to do it or who does it,apart from macvidcards.com
