Thanks to the incredible coding of Nathaniel Suchy, we finally have a new hack database Take a look at it at https://hacks.sm64hacks.com/
We are proud to finally have a working hack database, which has been coded from the bottom up. It's also open source, so if your website needs a similar system, feel free to fork us on GitLab and change it to your liking.
Unfortunatelty a lot of hack downloads are still missing, but fortunately they are no longer showing in the new database.
We have added all the missing hacks to this thread. If you have any of our missing hack versions, please check the threead and help us submit them through the form. (You need an account to submit downloads, but the account does not need to be activated, so you don't need to wait for activation.)

Due to severeal issues in hour hack database hosts and several delays in our new hack database system, a lot of hacks are currently lacking and we cannot add any new hacks at the moment. We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope to fix this soon
Hack Players
Only hacks downloads that link to sharemods.com or zippyshare.com will work. We have tried to fix the most popular downloads mannually. If you want to play another hack and know how to mannually patch a hack, you may try this site.
Hack Creators
Unfortunately we cannot add any new hacks at the moment, and we deeply apologize for this. Please feel free to keep submitting the hacks to us, and we'll add them as fast as we can.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year here from us at SM64Hacks
2018 has unfortunately been a difficult year for sm64hacks. Our host over many years, mediafire, decided to shut down our hosting without any prior warning. Not only that, but we've had to change servers twice and setup the server for our forum even more times. We've been working hard to re-add all hacks to the database, but as we were in the process, my computer containing the backups decided to break down and stop working for good. I'll be able to access the hard drive at the very start of next year, and our goal is to have restored the database in full before january ends.
SM64Hacks will be restored to its former glory this year, and we will continue our goal to make every hack of SM64 available to everyone. Enjoy your holidays, and we can't wait to see the wonderful hacks next year will bring

New Host Found!

We are happy to announce that we've found a new host for our hacks! We apologize for all of the website issues this year, and we hope we can finally put all of this behind us as soon as the download library is restored.
Our new host is ShareMods.com, and we are currently in the process of moving all the hacks over there. Most of the recommended versions of hacks should already be downloadable.
ShareMods.com has a difference from other hosts, in that the website shares its advertising revenue with the uploader, so a small amount of money will be paid out for each download. We want to assure everyone that this is a very low income, and will mainly cover our server costs. Any surplus will be reinvested back into the community, as SM64Hacks is 100% non-profit To prove we stay true to our word, an open accounting section will soon be available, where all our costs and incomes will be found.
We've thought of many ways to spend a potential surplus, like a hacking competition with prizes, or to improve our website, or to help other related websites or projects grow. If you have any ideas, feel free to post it in our forums.

Host issues

Greetings
We are happy to announce that all issues with the website should now be fixed. However our game hosting partner, mediafire, has decided to suspend our account for bandwidth capacity issues. In the mean time, our IPFS host provider has mysteriously been shutting down their service. We have backups of every game, but unfortunately this means we currently lack a hosting provider to host the games in our hack list.
If you could help us, or know anyone that could help us host the wonderful fan games of our community, please contact Vidoy#8767 on Discord. We are a non-profit organization, and we could truly use any help. Preferably we need an IPFS server, we can help set it up on any server. Contact for more info.

On the recent issues

We apologize for a lot of downtime recently, we've had some issues with moving the website to a new server, and a few day ago we encountered an unknown issue, we are still researching what actually happened. If you know or might know something about this recent issue, please contact Vidoy.
Please note that sm64hacks is run on a volunteer basis, and that means that we unfortunately cannot update or maintain the website as fast as a business might be able to. Running a website with full uptime had become harder in the past few years, but trust us when we say we're still doing all we can to give you all the hacks of sm64 the world can offer

New Hack Database

We are currently working on making a brand new database for all the hacks!
The new hack database is made entirely thanks to our qualified staff member Lunorian, and will make sure we can publish hacks faster and with more accurate info than before also long-missed functions like sorting, rating and searching hacks will be there!
The new database is currently empty, as every hack needs to be re-entered by the staff, and we'll be doing our best over the next days to add them
It's currently under development, and we want your input on the case Reply your ideas, suggestions or concerns in this post!

How To Make Rom Hacks

Name	Description
IPS	The classic IPS.EXE. Used to apply hacks/patches to ROMs. Usage is 'IPS x.rom y.ips' where x is the name of the target rom, and y is the patch file in the same directory. Now includes the Turbo Pascal source code!
IPS Mac	Utility for patching .IPS patches to ROM files.
IPS Patcher	This is the utility that allows for patching .IPS patches to ROM files in MacOS.
IPS Patcher	This is a GUI driven IPS patcher for the Mac. It is really intuitive to use, but does not support generating patches, for that, use UIPS.
IPS Wizard	This is an IPS patcher that is written in French. It has a basic GUI and isn't very hard to use at all.
ips XP	This is an IPS patcher with the ability to apply and create IPS patches. It has a basic GUI, and is easy to use.
IPS-win	Like the classic IPS, It is used mainly to apply patches to ROMs. Although, IPS-win, is for Windows. It does the same thing, but gives you a quick GUI so you can patch, and be on your way. Check it out. Version 3.0 is under development.(08/12/2001)
IPS.pl	This is a Perl script which is designed to apply an IPS patch to a ROM. It is a quick hack according to the author, but it seems to work OK for me. It is released under the terms of the GNU GPL. Shift-click on the link to save it, and then rename to end in .pl again, as it currently ends in .txt instead to avoid running the script ;).
IPSEXE	This utility allows you to make IPS patch files into easy to use EXE files. This is a Greek Translation of the program done by Vag of GreekRoms.
JIPS	JIPS in an IPS patcher which was written written in Java so it can run on Linux, Solaris, Windows and MacOS.
Lunar IPS	Lunar IPS is intended as an easy to use, lightweight IPS patch utility for windows to replace DOS program. It can both create and apply IPS patches.
NINJA	Said to be the next generation of patching utilities, this program can create and apply patches in a new format called RUP. This format is superior to IPS because it cannot be applied to a file for which it was not intended (such as a corrupted ROM). Also, the program will recognize different formats and make any changes necessary to apply a patch.
Ouinja Patcher	Ouinja Patcher supports the original IPS patch format and also the new NINJA patch format. It can create IPS, IPS-RLE, NINJA-Binary, NINJA-Text, NINJA-GZip, and PPF format patches.
SamIPS 2	A Windows-based IPS patch applyer and creator.
UIPS	A really nice and easy to use IPS patcher for Mac OS X. It supports patching and can actually generate IPS files for other users.
UniPatcher	UniPatcher is a ROM patcher for Android that supports IPS, IPS32, UPS, BPS, APS (GBA), APS (N64), PPF, DPS, EBP and XDelta3 patch types.
